The special edition published in Frontiers in Political Science / Frontiers in Human Dynamics includes an editorial and five articles with the common topics of integration and migration. Each study delves deeply into various aspects of ideations from diverse perspectives and at varying levels of investigation. All articles are open access.

MIRNet Hosts a Stage at the 2022 Opinion Festival
MIRnet hosted a stage at the annual democracy festival Opinion Festival held annually in Paide, a small town in the heart of Estonia, with three panels dedicated to migration and integration. The thought-provoking discussions were moderated by our very own Leif Kalev and Mari-Liis Jakobson.

MIRNet, the EC-funded Horizon 2020 project will host a Summer School at Tallinn University, Estonia from August 10th-12th 2022. The topics discussed cover the research areas of migration, diaspora, transnationalism and integration.
MIRNet Held a Full Day of Meetings with External Stakeholders
On June 15th, 2022, the MIRNet team held a full day of meetings with the external stakeholders, discussing challenges related to refugee crisis prompted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as well as cooperation opportunities in R&D.

Today, NGO Mondo launched an online course on migration developed by MIRNet researcher Mari-Liis Jakobson. The Migration School training course is organised around fourteen topics and is free for everyone.
MIRNet Project Extended Until February 2023!

The agenda included overviews of and ideas for several paper drafts, as well as theoretical discussions related to migration studies and administrative and strategic tasks.

In the first seminar, taking place on October 21, 2020, TLU associate professor in political sociology Mari-Liis Jakobson and her co-authors Sebastián Umpierrez de Reguero (Diego Portales University/Leiden University) and Inci Öykü Yener-Roderburg (Strasbourg University/University of Duisburg-Essen) will be presenting their article on transnational populism.

MIRNet Kick-off meeting
The opening event for project MIRNet took place on the 10th and 11th October 2019 at Tallinn University with the participation of consortium partners from Tallinn University, The University of Sussex, Roskilde University and University of Tampere. The consortium meeting was followed by a public lecture by Russell King from the University of Sussex on the topic of “Migration, Mobility, Transnationalism, Diaspora: the four keywords of human migration".
